Earlier this month, the Fair Work Commission awarded increases in Modern Award rates of pay and allowances. These increases come into effect in the first full pay period commencing (ppc) on or after 1 July 2024.
These include the following increases:
- An increase of 3.75% per week in all Adult weekly rates in the Modern Awards
- ‘Work-related’ allowances increased in accordance with the specified formula contained in each Modern Award
- ‘Expense-related’ allowances increased in accordance with the percentage movement in the applicable index figure as specified by the Modern Award
- An increase in the Adult National Minimum Wage to $915.90 per week ($24.10 per hour)

Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020: Updated rates and allowances can be found on pages (i) – (iv) (the Briefing Sheet), 15, 17, 19, 19(a), 40 and AVI-1 of the updated PDF copy of the award which is accessible to ACA Qld Members on the ACA Qld Member Portal via the 'Industrial Relations' page.
Employers in need of updated rates of pay for trainees can also find a downloadable PDF version of the National Training Wage Schedule (extract from the Miscellaneous Award 2020) which is accessible to ACA Qld Members on the ACA Qld Member Portal via the 'Industrial Relations' page. The rates displayed in this schedule have also been updated for the 2024 Annual Wage Review Increase and are operative ppc 1 July 2024.
