Join us in advocating for the future of Queensland’s children.
Early childhood development is a protective factor in influencing and improving outcomes for children. Some children miss out on this crucial development and access to a quality early education setting is fundamental in changing their life course.
The introduction of 2 years of kindy champions greater results for Queensland's unseen and under-represented children. Access to 2 years of kindy strengthens a child’s life trajectory toward a brighter future.
Priorities for a brighter future
Offer universal access to three-year-old kindergarten with 15 hours of fee relief to families and increase four-year-old kindergarten to 30 hours.
Offer early intervention professional development programs in all ECEC settings, including improved partnerships between health and the long-day care sector to support healthy development in children.
Establish a Queensland state-based industry agreement that supports migrant and visa-holder ECEC workers.
Embed infrastructure policies that prevent concentrated clusters of ECEC services and ensure business viability and access to ECEC in areas in most need.
Deliver an ECEC Summit to mobilise innovative, whole-of-government responses to federal reviews, including those of the Productivity Commission, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, and the Inclusion Support Program.
Many Australian states including New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia offer fee-relief 3-year-old kindy. Queensland children and families deserve 2 years of kindy too.
Prepares children for the transition to school with confidence.
Boosts cognitive and language development, ensuring children are ready to learn.
Alleviates the burden on working families by offering affordable early childhood education.
Bridges the gap in educational outcomes, providing diverse learners with an equal opportunity to succeed.
