The early childhood roundtable hosted by our national body, Australian Childcare Alliance, at Parliament House yesterday, was an overwhelming success. Our President Jae Fraser and ACA Qld committee member/ACA President Gwynn Bridge represented Queensland.

Early childhood sector leaders agreed that children must be at the centre of the reforms currently before the Australian Parliament. It was well attended by all sides of politics Senator Simon Birmingham, The Hon Kate Ellis MP, Senator Xenophon, Senator Lambie and Senator Lazarus.

The roundtable was united in the concerns of children being left behind and its motivation to ensure that children are placed at the centre of early childhood policy moving forward.

It was made clear that we as a nation have the choice of either paying now or paying later: what happens in the early years lasts a lifetime.

ACA will now facilitate the next steps for the group and leverage support for critical outcomes moving forward.

Members will be kept informed of further developments through member updates.
