We have undertaken extensive advocacy this year and have seen record government investment in free kindy, paid planning days, workforce programs and anticipate more initiatives are to come.
Our state election is called for 26 October 2024 and in preparation, we have drafted the ACA Qld Election Manifesto, editable letters you can send to your local candidates and have included some speaking points to help guide conversations. These will also be available in our online portal.
To further support our advocacy, we will commence a digital marketing campaign later in the month and hope to launch this in the following weeks. The success of our advocacy and this campaign lies in its reach. Your participation in sharing these videos and online content with families and colleagues is a great contribution. We will also have an online petition on our website, to collect data to help support our determination in Queensland introducing 3-year-old kindergarten.
Once the media campaign videos are finalised, we’ll send these to you via email and you’ll be able to share them amongst families and networks. Please follow @acaqld on Instagram and Facebook.
Our 2024 Queensland State Election Manifesto builds on the advocacy we have been undertaking throughout 2024. We continue to inform all sides and levels of politics, on the lessons, needs and policy insights we believe will create a greater, holistic system with practices that support children and the people who support children.
In the 2024 election, ACA Qld asks for a commitment to:
- Universal access, offering three-year-old kindergarten with 15 hours of fee relief to families and increasing four-year-old kindergarten to 30 hours.
- Early intervention professional development programs in all ECEC settings, including improved partnerships between health and the long-day care sector.
- Establish a Queensland state-based industry agreement and skilled migration program for ECEC workers.
- Embed infrastructure policies that prevent concentrated clusters of ECEC services.
- Deliver an ECEC Summit to mobilize innovative whole-of-government responses to the Federal reviews, including the Productivity Commission, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the Inclusion Support Program.
We thank you again for your continued contribution and for sharing your experiences with us.
