Workforce Advisory & Support Service

Workforce Advisory & Support Service is an initiative of ACA Qld, designed to have both immediate and longer-term impact on the severe workforce shortages that are impacting the early learning sector.

The first program under the Workforce Advisory & Support Service is ‘Prac Swap’. This is a free service whereby we seek to match two people needing to undertake a practicum placement (‘prac’) as part of their Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) degree, so that each can work in the other’s service for the period of the prac. This has the advantage of neither person needing to take leave, and the service not needing to arrange another person to cover an absence.

The Prac Swap arrangement is covered by an agreement for which ACA Qld provides the template. ACA Qld is not a party to the agreement.

To register for a Prac Swap, simply click on the button below. You are also welcome to forward a link to this page to any service who may also be interested.

The next initiative to launch will be ‘Flying Squad’. This will be another free service to assist ECEC services to access suitably qualified, temporary staff. Priority is currently being given to covering absences for studying ECTs to undertake prac, where a Prac Swap is unsuitable or not feasible.

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified early childhood professionals. If you know someone who may be interested, please forward a link to this page so they can register their interest via the button below.

ACA Qld gratefully acknowledges the support of the Queensland Government in these initiatives.
