April is crunch time in terms of getting ready for the new Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

The new funding package that replaces the existing Child Care Benefit (CCB) and the Child Care Rebate (CCR) may bring about substantial changes to the way quality Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services operate, and the way they engage with families.

As an ECEC service provider, you will need to consider making changes to your financial and operating models due to:

  • potential affordability and accessibility impacts for families
  • new reporting requirements, enrolment processes and IT system changes
  • a need to train staff to handle new processes, plus enquiries from families

To help you consider your business model options and determine the most sustainable way ahead for your service under the new system, ACA has commissioned PwC (formerly known as Pricewaterhouse Coopers) to develop a modelling tool for the use of ACA Members. We've named it the Flexible Affordable Modelling Tool (FAMT).

The FAMT is designed to help you make more informed decisions on pricing structures, including potentially varied sessions, to ensure your service(s) remains viable, sustainable and able to continue delivering high-quality Early Childhood Education and Care. The tool will hopefully assist in providing flexibility to the needs of families in your local community under the new CCS.
