By now you should have received an email from the Department of Education and Training, announcing that the application period to apply for grant funding under the Community Child Care Fund is now open.

We would encourage you to give some thought to this opportunity and if relevant to your service, start working on your application as soon as possible.

The deadline for online applications is 2.00pm AEDST 5 October 2017.

In order to apply, you will need to complete an 'application pack', which includes a number of forms such as a detailed budget proposal, evidence of land/building ownership or permission from the land/building owner to implement the proposal and a simple floor plan.

The Community Child Care Fund (CCCF) is being introduced as part of the new child care package that comes into effect in July 2018. It will provide grants to eligible child care services to reduce barriers to accessing child care, particularly in disadvantaged, regional or remote communities.

Grants provided under the CCCF are intended to supplement fee income received from families, including the Child Care Subsidy and Additional Child Care Subsidy payments.

To be eligible to apply under this grant opportunity, applicants must be:

1.      an approved provider of an approved child care service; AND
2.      an organisation which is either:

         a.       seeking funding for an approved child care service
operating in a priority area (list of priority areas); OR

          b.      seeking funding for an approved child care service currently
in receipt of funding under the department’s
                   Community Support Program.
This grant opportunity will be managed on behalf of the Department of Education and Training by the Department of Social Services Community Grants Hub.

Application packs, including guidelines, questions and answers, and the grant application form, are available on the Community Grants Hub website

ECEC services can contact the Community Grants Hub Hotline on 1800 020 283 or for help or information during the application period.
